Googlebooks are coming for your Mac

Google is betting on Android-phone integration and Gemini AI, not hardware specs, to make Googlebooks compete with Apple's ecosystem.

• Five OEM launch partners: Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, and Asus are all shipping Googlebooks starting around $899 (Acer 14) up to $1,299 (Lenovo Googlebook 15, HP Googlebook 14), with Dell's XPS Googlebook at $1,199.
• No hardware standard enforced: Google sets no minimum spec — RAM, touchscreens, and chip choice (Intel Core Ultra, Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, future MediaTek) vary by OEM.
